Sponsor OnDeck Softball along with Power Surge Softball will be hosting an Elite12u Tournament. This is an Invite Tournament and will feature the top 12u teams in the west. The tournament will have some very unique features with Box Bracketing followed by Double Elimination, 5 Inning Games, and no Warm Ups between innings. It will make the already fast paced game of Softball even faster. The tournament will take place at the San Diego Hickman Power Surge Fields with its newly finished 11 million dollar project redo.
Sofia Mujica made the USA Softball Junior National Team. The Senior from Granite Hills High School is on her way to play college softball at UCLA. Sofia was the only California player to make the USA Junior National Team. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, to see the world , play the best of the best players, and the next step could be the the USA Olympic Team.

Scott Berndes is a legend in the game and at 72-years-old he jokes: “I feel like I am coaching against my grandchildren sometimes!” A former DI pitcher, Coach Scott has been leading fastpitch teams for 28 years and says the turning point came when he was coaching his daughter in rec ball and thought it “was a joke… ‘Oh well,’ I thought and then I med Federal Judge John Hargrove—the guru of rec ball coaches and my mentor. He got me hook, line and sinker.” The San Diego-area club coach also oversees one of the few travel softball organizations that run their own four field facility. “We mow. We fix sprinklers. We schedule it. We host our own tournaments,” Berndes explains. “Rachel Garcia does hitting and pitching lesson at our fields and we also have the nationally known Powerhouse Mechanics Pitching Academy that runs out of fields. Coach Scott has had over 140 players make it to the next level—with a balance of many going to Power 5 schools while others heading to Ivy League programs. One of his peers commented: “We all admire Scott for his longevity in the sport and he has historically been success in building up top teams
